Date Night Dress

ree

I don't know about you, but going out on a nice date night seems like such a far away thought these days. You know the kind, you get dressed up real nice, your date comes to your door with flowers, and you go for a nice evening out. Regardless how laid back you are, everyone every now and then likes to romanticize the idea of dressing up to go out for a date night. Regardless if you are a shy teenager, reluctant college kid, self conscious twenty something, or married with kids in tow, you deserve to dress up for something special.

I always leaned toward lighter colors when dressing up to go anywhere. But how do you take an off white color and make it perfect for the night, specifically that date night? Simple, it's all about the fit and structure of the dress. You can make a color night worthy by the fit. This dress was inspired by a linen peasant blouse with darts on the bodice, that I had my eye on. The darts created a more fitted shape and I thought, it was so beautiful it deserves front and center in the form of a dress.

The design itself, I pictured in a thick linen fabric to give it a casual feel that contrasted with it's formal structure. So you give a playful but put together look that is soft to the touch. Comfy enough to sit in while you enjoy a delicious meal with that dreamy guy across the table, just enough give at the skirt to give you extra comfort when having fun and dancing the night away, and just enough formality to make you feel and look special.
